Bayville's resident mutants have just recently achieved an earth-shaking feat. They have toppled the Eternal known as Apocalypse, and have assured that the Earth can see another day. Now, as they rest and celebrate their victory with a return to Bayville High, Xavier sets out for his largest student recruitment project in the history of the institute.
Reaching out to every student telepathically through Cerebro, he has made it known to all active mutants on the planet that his school is a haven for mutants and that all are welcome. Regardless of their past or powers, all will be taken, and none would be left out in the cold.
Meanwhile, Magneto and his Acolytes also become much more aggressive in locating potential mutants for their cause. But rather than allowing all mutants to join, he only wishes to take in the elite for this team, making one grand attempt to topple the world of homo sapien and clear the way for mutant-kind.
But little do both sides know, that there is another force at work, one who intends to wait out the coming battle and take what remains for himself.
